I have some miniature gardenias that I planted in October. They are thin and bare looking. Will they come back fuller and filled in for spring and summer?

If you do a little pruning, you'll encourage a bushier plant. Depending upon the size of the plants, you can cut an inch to several inches off each stem. Vary the lengths of the stems; wherever you cut, one or two new stems will develop. This will help your plants become dense and appear much fuller. Wait until you see new growth emerging before you prune, then prune them back as described above. I think you'll be happy with the resulting fullness of your gardenias.
