|My wife purchased a Burgundy Lace Japanese Maple tree and would like to plant this were a recently planted Birds of Paradise plant was. She had heard mixed responses in planting this plant in the same hole. What is your reply to this query?
|Japanese maple and bird of paradise are not at all related, so a problem with the bird of paradise won't necessarily transfer to your Japanese maple. Both are susceptible to root rot if the soil doesn't drain well so if that's your concern, be sure to amend the planting area with plenty of organic matter to facilitate good drainage before planting your maple. Best wishes with your new maple!|
