I planted my red Oleander 7 years ago, and they have only bloomed once. Yes I have trimmed them and they now are about 6-7 ft tall, I live in south texas, and see them bloom all summer, all over my area.
Why wont mine bloom?

Cristina,

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you.

Pruning can delay bloom by removing potential bloom buds. Don't prune them for a while and see if they start blooming. In the meantime, fertilize only moderately with a complete fertilizer product, and give them enough water to maintain moderate vigor. Also they need full sun to bloom well.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening year in 2007. Please stop in again soon!
