|I recently relocated from the SF Bay Area, CA to Las Vegas, NV. I have two potted 6ft. plus lilac bushes. Only one has flowered this spring and last spring. I would love to have full, healthy, lush bushes. At this point my plants are very leggy and sparse. Any suggestions from you would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.
|Lilacs can become leggy if they aren't regularly pruned. Wait until after they have finished flowering and then reduce the size of each shrub by about one-third. This will promote lots of new growth to help them fill out and should provide healthy new stems on which flower buds can develop for next year's flower display.
