I recently purchased two shrub roses for my backyard. As I removed the plants from their bags to pot them until it is warm enough to break through the ground and properly plant them, I noticed they have wax all around the cane and branches up to where the leaves begin. This is not a grafted plant. Should I remove the wax? The plants are healthy and are growing well.. I'm just not sure how to handle the wax.
Thanks in advance!
|The wax is meant to prevent them from drying out during storage and while their roots are establishing. You can leave it on. It will wear off in the weather once they are outside. Enjoy your roses!|
