You used to have some simple garden ideas with suggested plants for use in different environments (i.e. full sun, partial sun, shade, partial shade). I have and area approx. 3 x 6 that receives no sun during the day. I am looking to plant a variety of perennials in this area. It borders the walkway up to the front entry door of my home. Do you still have these ideas available? Thank you.

You can generally find 3X5 cards with design ideas lined up along the perennial flower benches. If you can't find any in your local Home Depot, ask a sales associate. In the meantime, here are a few suggestions for a shady flower bed: Aconitum napellus (Monkshood) Blue-Violet flowers from June-Sept. Grows 1.5-3' tall and wide with lacy foliage; helmet-shaped flowers;

Anemone x hybrida (Japanese anemone) Pink or White flowers from Aug.-Oct. Grows 2-3' Prince Heinrich has Whirlwind Mounding foliage; flowers produced on tall stems.

Brunnera macrophylla (Siberian bugloss) Blue flowers from May-June, 1-1.5' tall and wide, Blooms like forget-me-nots; heart-shaped leaves form rounded mound.

Dicentra eximia (Fringed bleeding heart) Pink or White flowers in April-May, 1-1.5' tall and wide.

Dicentra spectabilis (Bleeding heart) Red or White flowers April-June, 2-3' tall and wide, Fern-like leaves; heart-shaped blooms.

Ligularia dentata (Ragwort) Dark Orange flowers July-Sept., 3-4' tall and wide, Mounded habit; daisy-like blooms.

Ligularia stenocephala (Ragwort) Yellow flowers June-Aug., 3-5' The Rocket-like blooms reach 4-6'; foliage forms large clump below blooms.

Best wishes with your new garden bed!
