What causes my house plants to have a yellow or brown tip on their leaves?

Browning or yellowing leaf tips can usually be traced back to dry air or insufficient water. Indoor air, especially in winter, is typically too dry for houseplants. You can overcome this by using a humidfier in the room or by placing your plants on a pebble filled tray to which you keep an inch or so of water. You don't want the containers sitting in the water, but just above. As the water evaporates it will increase humidity all around the plants. Be sure to water your plants as often as necessary to keep them from drooping. Even a slight drought will cause leaf problems a few weeks down the road.

Best wishes with your houseplants!
