I live in the center of San Joaquin Valley. What spring vegetables will mature properly before it gets too hot here.
I tried brussel sprouts last spring and they failed due to heat.

Instead of growing cool-season veggies like Brussels sprouts in the spring, why not plant them in late summer so they'll mature in the cooler weather of late fall and early winter? Early spring, or quick maturing veggies you can plant now include lettuce, radishes, peas and beans. Plant squashes, pumpkins, tomatoes, eggplant and carrots for harvest during the hottest summer weather. Lucky you! In your climate you can garden almost all year around!
