Does Burpe sell "Nicandra physalodes" (Shoo-Fly Plant)and does it discourage the average fly? |
Shoo-fly Plant (Nicandra physalodes) is also known as Apple of Peru. It is a vigorous bushy annual which grows from 2 to 5' tall with sky-blue flowers an inch wide followed by unusual pappery 5 wing pods that are excellent in dried arrangements. Raised around greenhouses for its possible fly repelling and killing properties, it is also said to attract and kill white flies. I can't vouch for its effectiveness. Burpee does not have seeds for Shoo-fly Plant. You can get the seeds from Thompson & Morgan, 1-800-274-7333; web site: www.thompson-morgan.com |
