Loritha,

Products for acid loving plants such as azalea and camellia food are the best for hydrangeas in your area. Follow label instructions for rate of application. Fertilize the plants in early spring and again in early summer. Maintain moderate soil moisture and keep the soil surfaced mulched to hold moisture and deter weeds. Hydrangeas like a little morning sun but shade from late morning on through afternoon. They prefer a soil with lots of composted organic matter mixed in prior to planting.
