The fronds on my bottle palm tree are hanging to the ground all of the time. Should the roots be exposed or covered with soil? How much water does it require? I have had it for 2 years and it is about 5 feet tall.
Thank you

Bette,

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you.

Roots should have some soil over them but just a little exposure right at the base is not a big deal. Water enough to maintain adequate soil moisture but don't keep it soggy. You can trim off the lowest hanging fronds if you like or leave them alone.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
