I would like to plant different perennials and shrubs. We have deer in the community. What can I plant that deer do not like? I don't want to have to put fence everywhere to keep them out. What do you recommend?

There are a number of plants deer tend to avoid, but the truth is, a hungry deer will eat almost anything. So if the deer population is large and there is competition for food, even the following plants may become snack food for deer:
Achillea spp., Yarrow, Aconitum spp. (Monkshood), Ageratum houstonianum, Allium christophii (Star of Persia), Allium neapolitanum, Daffodil, Garlic Allium ostrowskianum (Lily Leek), Anemone x hybrida (Japanese Anemone), Anemonella thalictroides (Rue Anemone), Anethum graveolens (Common Dill), Aquilegia spp. (Columbine), Aurinia saxatilis (Basket-of-Gold), Antirrhinum majus (Snapdragon), Arabis spp. (Rock-cress), Arisaema thiphylum (Jack-in-the-Pulpit), Aubrietia deltoidea, Bergenia spp. (Berginia), Ceratostigma plumbaginoides (Plumbago), Cimicifuga racemosa (Snakeroot)Colchicum, Consolida ambigua (Larkspur), Convallaria majalis (Lily-of-the-valley), Coreopsis, Cyclamen, Dicentra spectabilis (Bleeding Heart), Digitalis spp. (Foxglove), Ecinacea purpurea (Purple Coneflower), Epimedium spp. (Barrenwort), Euphorbia, Fritillaria, Galium odoratuim (Sweet Woodruff), Gloriosa superba (Glory Lily), Hemmerocallis 'Stella de Oro' (Daylily), Hesperis matronalis, Hyacinth, Lamium maculatum (Deadnettle), Lavender, Linaria, Lobularia maritima (Sweet Alyssum), Lychnis coronaria (Rose Champion), Matteuccia, Narcissus, Nicotiana, Osmunda regalis var. spectabilis (Royal Fern), Pachysandra procumbens (Japanese Spurge), Papaver orientale (Oriental Poppy), Pelargonium spp. (Scented Geranium), Pervoshia atriplicifolia (Russian Sage), Ranunculus, Rheum rhabarbarum (Rhubarb), Rudbeckia, Salvia, Santolina, Scilla, Stachys byzantina (Lamb's Ears), Tagetes spp. (Marigold) Thyme, Tiarella, Tropaeolum majus (Nasturtium) Yucca.
