Please help - I moved into my house seven years ago and now my hostas are monsters!!! Do I dig them up in the spring or fall?

Hostas can be dug and divided almost any time during the growing season, but early spring just as they begin to grow is a good time as is early fall. Keep in mind that they do grow to quite a large size and once they reach specimen size it is a shame to have to divide them, if you have space to accomodate them at maturity try to space your divisions accordingly.
