If I plant Freesias now will they bloom this summer? Will they grow in semi-shade? |
Freesia corms can be planted 2 inches deep in well-drained soil, in a sunny location. They will bloom in the spring and then the leaves will dry up, but they'll begin growing again in the fall. Be sure to remove faded flowers or the plants will revert to a cream color marked with purple and yellow. If you plant Freesia from seeds, sow them in June and they'll bloom the following spring. |
