I purchased a foxtail palm last year from Home Depot. Last week it still had 2 green fronds, now, less that 1 week later both are brown. All fronds are brown, and the trunk looks like it's burned. This problem occurred suddenly, I don't want to lose the tree, what can I do?

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

That could have been due to drought or soggy wet soil conditions for a period of time that caused roots to die. Overfertilizing can also result in root burn and similar symptoms on the top of the plant. Try to keep the soil just moist not soggy and give it a few weeks to see if it will recover or not. Good luck with your palm!

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
