I have bought a 1 gallon persian lime tree and am needing to know should I plant it in the ground immediately or grow it slowly in a larger pot?

David,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

You can choose either way. That tree won't take a hard freeze so unless you have a way to protect it over winter I'd keep it in a container. As you move it to larger containers it will be able to grow larger that it can in a smaller container.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
