I just purchased a Bonfire Patio peach tree, which claims on the tag to have edible fruit. However, everything I've read tonight says that the fruit is inedible and usually just falls off. It dosen't seem to be a fruit tree, but an ornamental. Is this the case? |
Bonfire Patio peach is basically an ornamental. It is a compact dwarf purple-leaf peach, and while fruit production is minimal, this sensational tree is prized for its ornamental beauty, showy flowers and compact size. When it does produce, the white-fleshed fruit is streaked with red. It ripens late, and it is edible. |
