How much sun does this dark green arborvitae require? What is best exposure if not full sun? What is growing rate. What type of soil?

Arborvitae need full sun all day or full direct sun for a minimum of about six hours including noon. In less sun they soon grow thin and sparse. They are considered medium growers -- most evergreens are slower growing than these. They do best in organic, evenly moist but well drained soil but are fairly tolerant of a range of conditions.
