|I am new at gardening so please bear with me. I purchased a Blue Lilly (bulb)for accent color. I almost immediately bloomed and has since done absolutely nothing. What do I do now if anything?|
|Welcome to the world of gardening! I think you'll be happy you joined! I'm familiar with lilies, but not with a blue lily. I wonder if you purchased Lily-of-the-Nile (Agapanthus)? Agapanthus, or Lily of the Nile, is a perennial flower that has gorgeous blue or white florets arranged in large globes that make this a wonderful addition to the garden. It is very popular California flower and in other places where it is fully hardy. Newer types have been bred for additional hardiness. The roots are large and fleshy, and the leaves are straplike, arising directly from the roots. Flower heads appear, one to a stalk, in clumps of two-foot stalks.
These plants grow in full sun to part shade and appreciate moist soil. When the flowers begin to fade, cut the entire flower stalk down to foliage level. Your plant should send out more flower stocks in a few weeks.
