The main ingredient of drywall is gypsum, a calcium-sulfate material that's regarded as an excellent soil conditioner. You can either put the pieces in the garden and cover with soil, or break the drywall into pieces and throw it into your compost pile. If your soil is already alkaline, you can use the compost as is. If not, add limestone to reduce the acidity.
