I purchased some foxgloves (Digitalis purpurea)that were in bloom. Since planting them in ceramic pots, they have lost most of the flowers. There is new growth and they seem to be starting to bud new flowers, but I don't know if they are supposed to loose their flowers. They are in the shade most of the day (when I had them in partial sun, they would wither very badly by evening), and since moving them and pruning back some of the leaves from the bottom, they have perked up. I water them every other day and keep the soil very moist, and have also put the shake on plant fertilizer on them. Please advise how to best take care of these, and whether or not it is normal for the flowers to fall off before new ones bloom. Thank you! |
