I have a full sun location that I would love to showcase with annuals for seasonal color throughout the year. There are many choices for Spring and Summer that are deer resistant (as best as possible), however I need suggestions for what I can plant in the winter other than pansies for color. Deer really like pansies in our neighborhood! If I can't figure out a year-round color/floral plan than I will have to plant low bushes...but I really want color. Help! Thanks.

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

There are not a lot of options that deer don't like. Copper Canyon daisy is a fall blooming perennial that they hate. Other flowers that grow in cool weather include ornamental cabbage and kale, alyssum, cyclamen, dusty miller (foliage), and snapdragons but these are not going to repel deer.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
