Hi. I'm from the South and this is my first attempt at a garden here in the metro Detroit, MI area. I think I'm in either zone 5b or 6a. We have a raised garden bed 8ft x 4ft x 12 in. I plan to purchase small plants - tomatoes, specifically and also squash, cucumbers, etc. When can I safely start planting?
Thanks!

The first of June is the optimal time to plant vegetable seedlings in your area. The fact that you have raised beds means the soil will warm up a little earlier in the season than the rest of your landscape. This will make the warm-season veggies you plan to plant quite happy. Hope you have a bountiful harvest!
