When we moved into our home two years ago the hydrangas and spireas were beautiful. The hydrangas did well last summer but not they're not even leafing out. same for the spireas. what can I do? They were well watered last spring, summer and fall.

Your plants may well have suffered some winter damage, or there may have been a late spring frost which could have delayed their leafing out. You can prune your spirea and hydrangeas back to promote new growth (both produce flowers on new growth) and that should encourage them to begin growing. You should see some response in a few weeks.

Best wishes with your landscape!
