We had maiden grass planted last fall, and I just realized we should have trimmed it back. Is it too late to do so this season, and should I just wait until next year for a trim? |
You can still trim it. It is better to remove the old dead foliage as much as possible. (The best time is in the late fall or in spring about when the daffodils bloom -- before the maiden grass starts growing for the season.) Cut it as short as possible without damaging the new growth -- experiment by cutting a small portion until you can determine roughly how high the new growth is. |
