I am trying to create a couple vegetable gardens and some flower beds, and I know I need some garden soil. It's sold as 1 cubic foot per bag. How do I determine how many bags I will need? I know the area size of all the gardens, but it's as square feet.

Thanks for any help you can give me,

Multiply height times width times depth for cubic volume. Usually, once you have loosened the existing soil the best thing to add is organic matter such as compost, old rotted autumn leaves, or very old well composted stable manure/bedding.
