I purchased a green papaya from an oriental market. After several days on the window sill it
ripened and was rotten on the inside. i would like to grow my own. Will the seeds grow that i took from it.

You might be able to germinate the seeds if you have a warm place to plant them or can use gentle bottom heat to keep the soil temperature warm. Here are directions on how to do it. (Read down to propagation.)

I would also suggest you use a thin layer of vermiculite on the soil surface to try to reduce the chance of disease or fungus. Good luck with your project!
