|I received a blue hyderangia in a pot for my |
birthday. I know it can be put in the yard. When is best time to do that? Does it require shade or sun? Any help will be appreciated.
|Plant it in a location with morning sun or bright dappled light all day long. A location with protection from winter winds is helpful. The soil should be organic and humusy, evenly moist yet well drained. This means damp like a wrung out sponge, not sopping wet or dried out. |
You can plant once there is no danger of frost. Be sure the plant is already acclimated to being outdoors. If you are not sure, set it in a sheltered shady location for about a week. Gradually move it to a sunnier spot (morning sun). Water as needed to keep the soil moist while it is in the container.
Happy birthday and enjoy your hydrangea.
