I received a blue hyderangia in a pot for my birthday. I know it can be put in the yard. When is best time to do that? Does it require shade or sun? Any help will be appreciated. |
Plant it in a location with morning sun or bright dappled light all day long. A location with protection from winter winds is helpful. The soil should be organic and humusy, evenly moist yet well drained. This means damp like a wrung out sponge, not sopping wet or dried out. You can plant once there is no danger of frost. Be sure the plant is already acclimated to being outdoors. If you are not sure, set it in a sheltered shady location for about a week. Gradually move it to a sunnier spot (morning sun). Water as needed to keep the soil moist while it is in the container. Happy birthday and enjoy your hydrangea. |
