I am wanting to plant a banana tree close to my pool, but I didn't know how big their root system was. I wasn't sure if the roots would grow up under my pool and cause some serious damage.

Katie,
I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!
There's no problem putting a banana near the pool. I would keep it about 4 feet away or more as the plant clump will grow wider as the years go by.
Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
