Once tulips bloom, can you cut back the stem? This is my first season with tulips and I am not sure what to do with the plants now that they have bloomed.

Thanks.

Tulips should be deadheaded, meaning remove the faded flower and flower stem, but leave the foliage intact. The foliage needs to grow and eventually dry up and turn brown before you remove it. That is how the bulb rebuilds itself to bloom again next year.
