|I will be moving this year and have many small perennials that I want to take with me. When is the best time of year to move perennials?
|Most perennials transplant best either in very early spring or in early September. Mid summer is the most stressful time for transplanting because it is so hot and tends to be dry as well. If they are small, you might consider potting them up now and holding them as container plants. Container plants seem to transplant more easily in summer if that is when you are moving. Or, you could hold them in their pots until September. On the other hand, many times the new garden offers an opportunity to try new plants ....|
