New yard - Knowledgebase Question

We are building a new home and need all the information we can get about putting in a yard,starting with the soil. Do we need it tested before we plant anything? We're still building so we have time before starting the yard.

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

You would do well to have your soil tested first but that is not a necessity for putting in a lawn. It is more important for flower beds and vegetable garden areas. You can soil test the lawn after it is established if you like. The following web site provides information on growing a great lawn in Georgia:
