i have planted several different bulbs on many occasions. the problem i have experienced, is that the bulbs get moldy and never finish growing. why do bulbs get moldy and how do you prevent this from occuring?

This depends partly on what kind of bulbs you are trying to grow. However, spring blooming bulbs being forced can sometimes turn moldy if they are kept too wet and/or too warm and wet. Summer bulbs can sometimes turn moldy if they are planted in soil that is too cold, or kept more than slightly damp. Also, you would want to use a good quality potting mix formulated for container growing for your summer bulbs rather than garden soil. I hope this helps you trouble shoot.
