|Is there anything that I can put on boxwood shrubs to keep my dog from urinating on them? Also is there anything I can do to get them back green from where he has urinated on them?|
|About the only thing you can do is protect your boxwoods by placing a fence or other barrier to keep dog urine from contacting it. The salts in the urine will burn the foliage and, repeated often enough, can kill the branches and the roots, as well. You can prune off the dead stems and leaves, and flood the soil to help leach urea out of the soil before the roots are burned. If you catch your dog urinating on the shrubs, immediately hose the urine off to minimize damage.
Best wishes with your boxwoods!
