is it too late too plant vegetables in south carolinia

This really depends on what you want to grow. It is too late for early cool season crops but you can plant many of them later on in the summer for fall harvest. I think you will find the following Clemson extension fact sheet helpful, it is divided by region and shows planting dates for many different vegetables. You may need to cut and paste the complete url into your browser to make it work correctly.
