Why are my impatiens covered with ants?

They are probably looking for aphids or some other such insect from which they can get a sugary substance the bug produces, usually called honeydew. It could also be that the plant produces such a substance. Either way the ants are not harming the plant. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
