Do you think the petunia 'Purple Wave' will survive the southern AZ desert? I'd have it in an eastern exposure with only morning sun.

It should do okay, though it may not make it through the peak of your blistering summer. To increase longevity, prepare the bed with Terra Sorb (pg 102 of the Burpee catalog), and place mulch around the plants to increase water retention. Enjoy!
