OUR DOGWOOD TREE IS DEAD. WE WOULD LIKE TO REPLACE IT W/A FLOWERING, FAST GROWING TREE. WE WOULD LIKE A TREE THAT HAS SPREADING BRANCHES (SIMILAR TO OUR DOGWOOD). THE AREA WHERE WE WOULD BE PLANTING WOULD BE FACING WEST (FRONT OF OUR HOME)& GETS PLENTY OF SUN. CAN YOU MAKE ANY SUGGESTIONS?
THANKS SO MUCH,
TONI VANELLA

You should be able to find a disease resistant variety of crabapple that matures to the size you need for that spot. These spring flowering trees do well in a full sun location and well drained soil. I'm sorry about your dogwood.
