For a crape to bloom its best it needs full sun. Also keep the weeds away and maintain moderate soil moisture. If the plant lacks vigor fertilize with a cup of 15-5-10 in early summer and again in mid to late summer. Spread it evenly throughout a circular area extending 4 feet from the trunk in all directions.
