how to keep japanese cherry tree small - Knowledgebase Question

i bought a japanese weeping cherry tree thinking it was a dwarf weeping cherry. is there anyway i can keep it small without a real thick trunk?

Unfortunately, there is no way you can prevent the trunk from increasing in caliper (diameter) as it ages, this is how trees grow naturally over time. If you really need a slim look, you would have to replace the tree periodically. I'm sorry I can't be more encouraging but I can't think of any other way.
