We have two gardenia bushes that are about 2-3 years old planted outside, although they bloom like crazy the blossoms have no frangrance at all, why? |
Patricia, I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up! Very strange indeed! My guess is that it must be the particular variety, but I have never had a gardenia that did not have any fragrance. You might take a shoot with foliage and a bloom to your County Extension Office to see if they can confirm the identity of the plant. Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon! |
