|The roses are planted on the east side of the house where my Mom's have always done great with many canes and blooms. We do have an evergreen that shades it several hours of the forenoon yet. Could it be they are just not getting enough sun or is there a fertilizer you would recommend other than Miracle Gro?|
|If your roses are not growing, they are either unhappy with the soil or they are not getting enough direct sunshine. Roses thrive with 8 hours of sun a day and loose, rich soil. If they are getting less than 8 hours of sun, you may want to move them or prune the evergreen so they get more sun (they'll also be less prone to disease problems with more sun). Roses are heavy feeders so choose a specially formulated rose food and apply according to label directions. You might also try pruning them back a bit to encourage new growth.|
Best wishes with your roses!
