The best thing is to ask a gardening friend or neighbor to water while you are gone and you return the favor when they travel. Otherwise, container plants can be grouped together on the north side of the house in the shadiest spot, watered thoroughly before you leave, and hope for the best. If it is only a few days, they should survive.
