I would like to take cuttings from my roses to give my daughter, how do I start a new one? |
If yours is a hybrid tea or standard rose, you might have a problem in getting a cutting to develop a hardy root system. Most patented roses are grafted onto another rootstock. If the rose is old, or is a climber, you may be able to dig the plant and divide it so that each part has some roots. It would probably be best for you to purchase a duplicate of your rose for your daughter, thereby insuring it will thrive and grow for her. |
