|Should I be pinching off the flowers that grow on my tomato & cucumber plants? If so, how far back should I pinch off, just the flower or all the way back to the stem? Thanks!

|Vegetable plants should not be deadheaded the way garden flowers are deadheaded. On a tomato plant, each flower is a potential tomato. Once the petals fall you should see the start of a tiny tomato. On cucubers, each female flower is a potential cucumber. (Male flowers will just fade away.) Once pollination occurs the flower petals will fade naturally and drop off. Occasionally, a flower may fade and fall without setting fruit. As long as this is just an occasional occurence it is nothing to worry about.
