|Prunus Purple Pony, the leaves have rust spots and are falling off. Planted the trees in April.|
|Purple Pony Cherry Plum is a dwarf cultivar, reaching only 10 to 12 feet in height. The deep purple foliage holds its color the entire season. The flowers are single, pale pink, it produes no fruit. This is a rounded, deciduous tree with ovate to obovate leaves. Bears solitary, bowl-shaped flowers, to 1 inch long, along bare shoots in early spring. This is a highly decorative tree, with beautiful foliage. Excellent in Japanese gardens, or just about anywhere you would like an extravagant, showy specimen tree. There are several fungal diseases that cause rapid spotting or wilting of foliage. It may be too late to spray your tree for protection, but you can try using a garden fungicide to protect any new leaves it may produce.|
Best wishes with your tree!
