I have an avid interest in Hyroponics, and 10 days ago I planted Burpee Supersteak Hybrid VFN in 3 in. baskets filled with Grow-Wool and a 25% Nutrient Solution. Seeds started to sprout after 5 days inside under a Growbulb. After 10 days, I tried transfering them outside to full sun. Of the 30 I planted, half withered and died. How do I ween them from inside to out, and would you recommend special shade screening to help in the transfer process for young seedlings?

Tomatoes grown inside in a protected area need to become
acclimated to the sun and wind gradually. Never place them
in full sun abruptly. Take at least a week to acclimate them. The first day, place them in a protected semi-shade area for a few hours. The next day, give them an hour in the sun, a few more in that semi-shade. Gradually increase the amount of time outdoors until they are out all day in full sun. Shade screening would be helpful, but you don't really need it if you have some trees or another spot that receives part shade.

And remember that plants in pots outdoors will dry out quickly, so be sure to check them frequently.
