I have a big beautiful basel plant that has lots of flower/seed buds coming out on top. I usually snip these off, dry them and then put them back in the soil to grow more. Is this the best way to harvest and use the seeds? |
Usually, gardeners try to harvest their basil repeatedly to prevent it from going to seed because at that point the flavor of the leaves tends to turn bitter. If you are happy with the results, then what you are doing sounds fine. |
