| I have a trumpet vine, yellow. It must be at|
least 6 years old and I have not yet had a bloom.
Please tell me what to do. Thank you.
|Campsis radicans or trumpet vine loves hot weather and will grow best in full sun all day long. In too much shade, blooming will be reduced. This vine blooms on the new growth of the season. If you prune during the summer, you will be removing flowering wood and/or flower buds. (If you need to prune it, either to remove winter damage or to control its size, do so in very early spring.) Finally, sometimes overfertilizing, especially with nitrogen, will result in excess foliage growth at the expense of blooms. If your vine is adjacent to a lawn that is fertilized, you probably would not want to fertilize the trumpet vine in addition to the lawn fertilizer. I hope this helps you trouble shoot.|
