Hello,
I have a problem with my squash blossoms dropping off the plant. They get very soft and droopy and then fall completely off, not producing any squash. Can you tell me what causes this? Thank you!

Squash plants produce male flowers before they produce female flowers. I'll bet the flowers that are dropping from your plants are the males. You can tell the difference between the flowers by looking at the stems. Male flowers will have a thin, straight stem just behind the petals; female flowers will have a slight swelling. Knowing this will help you determine just which of the flowers are likely to produce a squash (and which ones you can harvest to put in your salads!)

Hope you have a bountiful harvest!
